Composite Decking World is an Essex-based supplier of composite fencing. We supply the panels and advise on post type, and for Essex customers we coordinate installation through our network of trusted, independently operated local installers - whether that means a completely new run or new boards fitted to concrete posts you already have.

This page covers everything you need to know about our Essex composite fencing supply and installation service: what's included, how the process works, which areas we cover, what the panels look like, and how to get a free, no-obligation quote. If you're outside Essex and only need the panels supplied, our composite fence panels are available to order online.

01

Who We Are & What We Do

Composite Decking World Ltd is based in Upminster, Essex (RM14). We are a specialist composite outdoor materials supplier - not a general fencing contractor who happens to stock composite as one product among many. Composite decking and composite fencing are what we do.

We supply composite fence panels made from the same recycled wood and plastic composite as our decking range, so a garden can carry a consistent, low-maintenance finish from the deck through to the boundary. For Essex customers, we go a step further: we coordinate installation through our network of trusted, independently operated local installers, so you get one point of contact for materials and fitting without having to find your own contractor.

Supply & Trusted Installer Network

We supply the panels, posts and fixings, and connect you with a vetted, trusted installer from our local network to carry out the fitting. One quote covers both, coordinated by us, even though the physical installation is carried out by an independent installer.

We work on fencing projects of all sizes across Essex - from a single run replacing a few worn timber panels to a full boundary fitted around a new build. Whether you're keeping your existing concrete posts or starting from scratch, we can specify the right kit for the job and put you in touch with the right installer.

Composite Fencing Supply & Installation Services in Essex

We supply everything needed for composite fencing projects across Essex, and coordinate installation through our network of trusted local installers, covering both new fence runs and the replacement of ageing timber fencing.

New Fence Installation

A completely new boundary using our Full Panel Kit, which includes an aluminium post for every panel run - supplied by us and fitted by a trusted installer from our network. Suited to new gardens or boundaries with no existing posts.

Timber Fence Replacement

Old, rotting or splitting timber panels removed and replaced with composite by your assigned local installer. Where your existing concrete posts are sound, our Panel Only kit fits directly onto them.

Existing Concrete Post Fitting

Panel Only kits with aluminium U-channels are designed to slot straight into an existing concrete post, so sound posts don't need to be dug out and replaced unnecessarily.

Aluminium Post Systems

Full Panel Kits with aluminium posts, fitted Above Ground on a base plate or Sunken Into Ground, depending on your surface and preference.

What's included in a full supply-and-install project? Removal of existing fencing where applicable, post installation (new aluminium posts, or fitting to existing concrete posts), panel fitting, and site clearance - all carried out by your assigned trusted local installer. We confirm exactly what's included before you commit - no hidden costs.
03

How Supply & Installation Works: From First Call to Finished Fence

We follow a clear, structured process on every project, whether you're replacing a few panels or fencing an entire boundary. We handle the supply and coordination; the on-site fitting is carried out by a trusted, independently operated installer from our local network.

  1. 1
Free consultation. We start with a conversation about your project - the number of runs, the current state of any existing fencing and posts, and access to the site. For larger runs, we can arrange a site visit with one of our trusted installers to confirm measurements and ground conditions.
  2. 2
Free, itemised quote. You receive a clear written quote covering panel supply and, where you'd like it included, fitting by a trusted local installer. We explain what's included and why. No pressure, no obligation.
  3. 3
Fencing configuration. We confirm colour, height (1.2m, 1.5m, 1.8m or 2.1m), and kit type - Full Panel Kit with a new aluminium post, or Panel Only for an existing concrete post - along with Above Ground or Sunken Into Ground post fitting where new posts are needed.
  4. 4
Existing fence removal and site preparation. Where you're replacing timber fencing, your assigned installer removes the old panels and, if needed, old posts, then prepares the ground or confirms the condition of any concrete posts being reused.
  5. 5
Posts and rails. New aluminium posts are set either above ground on a base plate or sunk directly into the ground, depending on the installation type specified. Where existing concrete posts are being reused, the aluminium U-channels are fitted to receive the panel.
  6. 6
Composite boards fitted. Panels are fitted between the aluminium top and bottom rails to give a clean, straight run. Because each panel has a dual-faced finish, the fence looks equally presentable from both sides - useful for shared boundaries.
  7. 7
Final inspection and handover. Your installer checks every run for level and secure fixing, walks you through the minimal maintenance the fence needs, and leaves the site clear and tidy.
Extra posts for multi-panel runs. Every continuous fence run needs one extra post to close off the end - this isn't included automatically in an individual panel kit. We account for this at the quotation stage so there are no surprises on-site.

The Composite Fencing We Supply

We supply composite fence panels made from the same recycled wood and plastic composite material as our decking range, giving a consistent, modern finish that pairs naturally with a composite deck. Each panel is 1.8m wide, built from horizontal composite boards with a dual-faced smooth texture, fitted using aluminium top and bottom rails.

Replacing Timber Fencing With Composite

Replacing an existing timber fence is one of the most common reasons Essex homeowners contact us. Timber panels weather quickly in the UK climate - swelling, warping and developing surface checking as they age, and needing repeated staining or painting to stay presentable.

Composite fencing addresses the specific pattern of timber failure most homeowners are used to dealing with:

What Changes With Composite
  • No annual staining, painting or sealing
  • Doesn't swell, warp or develop surface checking the way timber can
  • Consistent appearance from both sides of the panel - useful on shared boundaries
  • Lighter to handle during installation than solid timber panels of a similar size
  • Can often reuse sound existing concrete posts via Panel Only kits
Points Worth Weighing Up
  • Not something we'd recommend painting - the surface is designed to hold its finish without treatment
  • Higher upfront panel cost than budget timber panels, offset by the absence of ongoing treatment
  • Existing posts need to be structurally sound to reuse - this is assessed on-site before confirming Panel Only

If your posts are still solid but your panels have had it, replacing boards only - rather than digging out and replacing the whole structure - is usually the quicker and more cost-effective route. Your installer will tell you honestly during the site visit if they think your posts need replacing too.

New Composite Fence Installations

Where there's no existing fence to work from - a new build garden, a boundary that's never been fenced, or a full replacement including posts - our Full Panel Kit includes an aluminium post for the run, fitted by a trusted installer from our local network.

Post Fitting Options

Fitting Type How It Works
Above Ground Post is fixed to a base plate using expanding bolts and screws - suited to a patio, existing decking, or other hard surface where digging a post hole isn't practical.
Sunken Into Ground Post is set directly into soil or wet concrete for a traditional fixed-post installation - no base plate fixing kit required, since the post is anchored below ground.

We'll recommend the right approach for your surface and site conditions during the consultation, and confirm it in your written quote before any work starts.

Why Choose Composite Decking World for Your Essex Fencing Project?

There are a number of ways to source composite fencing in Essex. Here is an honest account of what makes Composite Decking World a different proposition.

What You Get With CDW
  • Specialist in composite decking and fencing - not a generalist fencing contractor
  • One point of contact for both panel supply and fitting coordination
  • Installers in our network are vetted and familiar with manufacturer fitting specifications for our panel systems
  • Panel Only kits that work with your existing concrete posts, where sound
  • Full Panel Kits for new runs, with Above Ground or Sunken Into Ground fitting
  • Dual-faced panel finish - presentable from both sides of a shared boundary
  • Essex-wide coverage through our installer network
  • Clear, itemised quote before any work begins
What to Watch For Elsewhere
  • Sourcing panels from one supplier and separately finding your own installer, with no coordination between the two
  • Installers unfamiliar with composite panel systems or manufacturer fitting specifications
  • Vague quotes that don't separate panels, posts, fixings and labour
  • Posts replaced by default rather than assessed for reuse, adding unnecessary cost

Composite Fencing Supply & Installation Costs in Essex

Cost is the question every customer asks first, and it deserves a direct answer - even if a precise figure always requires a project-specific quote.

Cost Component What to Expect
Panel supply From £75.00 ex VAT per panel kit, up to £158.33 ex VAT, depending on height and whether you choose Full Panel Kit or Panel Only
Extra posts £33.33 ex VAT per additional post, needed to close off each continuous run
Removal of existing fencing Arranged through your installer where specified in the project scope
Installation (via our trusted installer network) Quoted by your assigned local installer based on the number of runs, fence height, ground conditions and access; coordinated by us so you get one clear figure
Waste removal Arranged through your installer where specified in the project scope

What determines your quote, in order of impact: the number of metres or panels involved, the height you choose, whether you're keeping existing concrete posts or need new aluminium posts supplied, whether old fencing needs removing first, and site access. A short run replacing boards on existing posts is a materially different job to a long new boundary requiring posts throughout - which is why we confirm the figure after understanding your specific project rather than quoting a flat rate.

Ready to get a figure? Call us on 01708 203 244 or use our online contact form. We'll discuss your project and provide a free, no-obligation quote. No pressure, no hard sell.

Yes. Our Panel Only kit is designed to fit into an existing concrete post using aluminium U-channels, so you can replace worn timber boards without replacing sound posts. We supply the kit and can put you in touch with a trusted local installer from our network to fit it, or you're welcome to fit it yourself or use your own installer. If your posts need replacing too, our Full Panel Kit includes a new aluminium post.
Panel kits start from £75.00 ex VAT, depending on height and kit type. If you'd like installation too, we coordinate a quote with a trusted local installer from our network - this depends on the number of runs, whether existing fencing needs removing, and ground conditions. We provide free, itemised quotes specific to your project. Call us on 01708 203 244 or use the contact form to get started.
This is arranged through your assigned local installer as part of a coordinated project, and can include removing existing timber panels and, where required, old posts, then clearing the site once your new composite fence is fitted. Let us know the scope when you request a quote so it's reflected in the price.
Panels are 1.8m wide and available in four heights - 1.2m, 1.5m, 1.8m and 2.1m. Graphite Grey is available now, with Teak and Charcoal Black launching soon.
A standard residential fence run can typically be completed by your local installer in one to three days, depending on the number of runs, whether old fencing needs removing first, and ground conditions. We give you a clear timeline at the quotation stage.
We supply composite fence panels nationwide - order online here, to fit yourself or arrange your own local installer. For customers in Essex, we can also coordinate installation through our network of trusted, independently operated local installers, so you have one point of contact for materials and fitting.
Very little maintenance is needed. An occasional brush to clear debris, and a rinse with a hose or a pressure washer on a low setting when needed, is generally enough to keep the fence presentable. There's no annual staining, painting or sealing required, and we wouldn't recommend painting the panels.
One extra post per continuous run, regardless of how many panels make up that run - for example, a run of nine panels still only needs one extra post to close off the end. If you're fencing more than one separate run, we'll factor the appropriate number into your quote.
